[He stood at the ship's stern effortlessly. He was looking at the horizon that passed them with a great frown on his face. He was the most powerful vampire alive and he can't seem to figure a way to leave this ship.

He died when the gave his heart to a furnace to create multiple vampire weapons. His body lived on for 1000 years, until the furnace burned out. Slowly his body deteriorated and lost all life even while it was frozen. But this ship didn't look like hell, neither did he believe he had enough merit to go to heaven. So he didn't exactly know why he was still alive and moving.

If anyone sees him, he shifts from wolf to bat to human form crazily trying to get out of the ship.]

[There's an extremely British, slightly overweight, beaming middle-aged man with a tartan scarf staring into the camera.]

I've finally gotten this working, [he says, self-satisfied.] These contraptions are quite tricky, aren't they?

Well. I must say it's been somewhat slow here, even for me. Would anyone care to join me for a cup of tea and feeding the ducks?

[There's a short pause. Don't ask where the ducks will come from. He'll handwave them up.]

--Dear me, I've entirely forgotten to introduce myself. My name is Aziraphale. I suppose there's no use trying to hide it anymore; I'm an angel. It's lovely to meet you.

[There's a whole host of things Giles imagines he should say to Willow's Warden. Not just bad things but good things, the unrelenting loyalty and support she'd always shown Buffy, something Giles values her for on a personal level greatly. To say nothing of her unfailing attempts to help in the fight against demons.

But there's more. There's a whole line of unforgivably selfish, frankly stupid decisions that she's made, and there's the complication of the fact that it's an addiction, a very real one, and not just being seduced by power. Giles himself feels that he's largely failed her in the way he's addressed it, and that in some world at least she'd died for that causes him a deep, aching grief. Willow is one of his children inasmuch as he allows himself to think of them that way, and he might not be very demonstrative toward them, but he does feel responsibility for them, and her.

So it's with a lot weighing on his mind that he sits in his room and waits for Lucy, staring absently down into a full mug of steaming tea. When she knocks, he gets to his feet and crosses the tiny space to the door to let her in, looking down at her and thinking, They really did assign her to a child, bloody hell. ...Then again, that may have been a stroke of pure wisdom. Willow does have a weak spot for them, and may actually listen to her.

Giles drags himself forcibly out of his thoughts.]
Ah, thank you for coming, [he says politely, stepping back out of her way.] I have tea, and... altogether too much to say. [He shakes his head.] I'll endeavor to restrain myself from spilling our life story to you full-formed.

[There's no video with this post, but the voice that sounds over the network is deep and undoubtedly that of a young man's. Mordred sounds calm and unaffected, although perhaps a little uncertain of the technology in his hands.]

It is easy for skills to weaken in this place. Very easy. [There's a note of resignation as he says it. He knew coming here would mean leaving Camelot and the knights behind, but it's still frustrating to feel the dexterity he'll need later ebbing idly away.]

If other people have weapons, I thought we might train? Sparring may be useful if we want to keep up our strength. [A considering beat of silence.]

Um ... that's all. Let me know if you are interested, I suppose?

[Despite the span of time (though really, Shinjiro hadn't been paying attention to how long it had been,) the supplies he'd found in the galley hadn't really diminished or grown rotten or-- Anything. Sure, he was on some sort of trans-dimensional, space/time deflecting, ethereal boat full of dead people, sailing around Fuck-Knows-Where-- but at least there could be a half-assed pretext of making sense.

Actually, along that thought-- Why the hell did it have to be a boat?]

[Welp, looks like no one's getting any relaxation today.

Because right now there is a very angry Italian trudging around, kicking doors open and growling at shipmates. If you are lucky, you have two options: one, you're buff and terrifying; two, you're a lovely lady. The former will be avoided at all costs, the latter will be catcalled and flirted with. To anyone not so lucky? You will be berated, glared at and subject to obscene gestures.

Welcome to Lovino Vargas's panic mechanism.

[ At her arrival, for a moment, she was happy to open her eyes again, shivering at the thought of being so close to death again, but then fear made it's way into her mind. With the sunlight, she couldn't see so clearly so she guessed she was back home... Then she noticed it wasn't home, and she actually was on a boat. She was used to being in the mountains, the forest, but not the sea. She was literally a landlocked country- so she was frightened. It didn't help that this was an unfamiliar place, and she couldn't see her brother anywhere.

She stumbled around the deck, hearing a few things from the people around her... She died? She has to redeem herself now? The sudden intake of all this information made her head spin, either that or it was the moving of the boat. She made her way onto a chair to sit on after she almost tripped. Thankfully, she was rather technically inclined so she had no problems with understanding the device, clicking through all the things on it to figure it out, once she was done she typed out a message. ]

Does anyone have any more information on why I am here?

[At first, she was confused as finding herself somewhere new, there was no hint of fear though, just a feeling like this would be one fun adventure. She explored most of the ship that she could, avoiding the sunlight to the best of her abilities, and at some point, just as a joke, drank the red out of the carpet (some other random things too) to spell help, in different places all over the boat.

Sadly enough she wasn't done with just that, she couldn't help but fly her way into peoples' rooms and switch peoples' clothes around, she may or may not have left bats in the closets too. In general, she caused a lot of chaos all over the boat.

She would get a kick out of it if anyone gets scared by any of that. After getting all of that out of her system, she finally found a place to just relax. It was a nice, dark, empty place and she just floated around it aimlessly, letting her mind wander now.

If anything, this place was strange, and it wasn't the kind of "afterlife" she heard of. With that thought, she lowered herself onto the ground, taking out a piece of paper and pen she "borrowed" from someone's room and started to write some lyrics from the top of her head. It was the only way she could relieve her feelings without letting it get in the way of her fun. Although the real reason, which she would never admit to, was that it would let her feel too vulnerable, and she hates feeling like that.

Whoever was close enough to this room, would hear quiet humming and some tapping on the floors.]

WOW. THIS IS HILARIOUS. I AM LITERALLY SITTING HERE AND LAUGHING MY ASS OFF OR ROLLING ON THE FLOOR OR DOING WHATEVER SHITTY THINGS YOU PINK-FLESHED ALIENS DO WHEN SOMETHING FUNNY HAPPENS.
ACTUALLY, WAIT. NOTHING FUNNY HAS HAPPENED. SO I'M NOT REALLY LAUGHING AT ALL. IN FACT, I WANT TO KNOW WHY THE FUCK I'M ON A SHIP BEING TOLD THAT I'M DEAD. I DON'T REMEMBER DYING. OBVIOUSLY, IT HAPPENED. I GUESS I'M NOT SURPRISED. IT'S JUST ANOTHER THING I HAPPENED TO FUCK UP ON.
OKAY, SO I'M DEAD. SO WHAT HAPPENS NOW.
AM I *REALLY* SUPPOSED TO TRY AND MEND MY WAYS. ARE YOU SHITTING ME. I'M LAUGHING AGAIN, ONLY THIS TIME, AT YOUR PROFOUNDLY RIDICULOUS IDEA THAT BETTERING MYSELF WILL ALLOW ME TO BE RAISED FROM THE DEAD AGAIN. WOW. WHOSE IDEA WAS THIS. HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH SUCH A PERFECT WAY TO SUCKER DEAD LOSERS INTO TAKING CARE OF YOUR GHOST SHIP. I THINK WE'VE FOUND THE WINNER OF THIS YEAR'S BIGGEST VOMIT-INDUCING SACK OF NOOK EXCREMENT AWARD!
IF ANYONE NEEDS ME, AND I'M PRETTY SURE THEY WON'T, I'M GOING TO SIT IN THIS ROOM AND CONTEMPLATE THE FUCKING AFTERLIFE AND WONDER HOW I ROYALLY SCREWED EVERYTHING UP. THANKS.

[if you are awake at this hour of the night, you are going to see something really awesome... or really scary, depending on how you look at things. there's a huge red dragon flying close to the ship. It swoops around, darts up high into the sky, then back near the water. it goes forward and comes back... no matter where it goes, the dragon always returns to the ship's side.

most of you are probably wondering what this beast is doing. it can't be here to kill you, right? most of you are already dead. BUT WHO KNOWS. it could be hungry! it could just want to make trouble. or maybe it just wants to tak along.

actually, this dragon is a very restless inmate, one who's tried to keep his secret under wraps so he wouldn't scare the humans. but even his magic cannot last for a week. even he needs to stretch his wings. he won't harm you. in fact, he'll probably ignore you unless you try to hurt him.

if you're his warden, poor you. you get to explain to everyone what the hell is going on]

OOC

1. This is an invite only, no apps, no activity check game. In short, we're just here for fun!

2. AUs, OCs and whatnot are all fine. For simplicity's sake let's try to keep the multiples to a minimum, but if everyone involved says it's okay, far be it from me to stop you.

3. There is only one community (this one) where all in person logs, network posts, and OOC activity will be posted. Just tag it appropriately with the entry tags, and tag with your character's name as well. It makes stalking easier.

4. You are free to make things up for the setting as you so desire. No, really. I don't care. This is generally based off of [community profile] lastvoyages, so feel free to use them for inspiration on the mechanics, but we'll be deviating from them in several places and you can do so at your whim.

IC

1. This is taking place on a large, old fashioned whaler ship. Let's call it the Charles W. Morgan because I've been there. Here's a shot for size comparison, and a view of the interior. Everyone has their own cabin, which is more like a small closet with a cot in it, but it is private and at least locks, though wardens can open their assigned inmate's lock.

2. Which brings us to... wardens and inmates. Inmates are people that have died in their canon. If they haven't died in canon, make up a reason for them to have died and play that AU. For whatever reason, these people are restless dead, and would not find peace in the afterlife until they have worked through some of their issues and more or less redeemed themselves. They emphatically do not have to be villains, just people that need guidance before they can be at peace.

3. Wardens are people who were offered a deal: graduate an inmate, and have a wish granted. Any wish. They know what's going on here and are theoretically in charge.

4. Inmates will arrive without knowledge of what's going on, but since wardens have volunteered, they will arrive with all the information.

5. After an inmate has graduated, they can choose to do one of three things: 1. move onto the afterlife, whatever that is; 2. become a warden themselves and have a wish granted; 3. get a second chance at life and return to the point at which they died, with all their memories of the Morgan intact.

6. While wardens are on the ship, no time is passing at home. If they choose to leave, they will be returned to the time from which they left, with no one else the wiser. If they take "vacations" to go home, this may lead to their canon becoming slightly AU if that is how you want to play it.

7. Write in places on the ship! Seriously. A garden, a pub, whatever. This is the trans-dimensional afterlife, we don't really have limits, and the game itself has very few rules. Go nuts.

8. Occasionally we will have events where the ship pulls into port in some various location. These can be serious or crack-y as we decide.

9. Anyone killed on the ship just comes back the next day. This is the afterlife, after all. Those that abuse their abilities for violence may find them removed or limited, and those that use more mundane means for violence may find themselves in the brig, to be released only at their warden's discretion.

Hey guys! If you found this post then you know what's going on!

Comment with the characters you're thinking of bringing in, along with what role they would be, and other people comment with who they'd like to see out of them. This is also a great time to propose Warden/Inmate pair ups, though you don't need to do that now-- there will be an official pair up post later, and after that a permanent "personals page" where you can see who else is looking.

GO WILD. ASK QUESTIONS. PLOT. Official sign ups later.
