Dragon on Deck! [action OR prose]

[if you are awake at this hour of the night, you are going to see something really awesome... or really scary, depending on how you look at things. there's a huge red dragon flying close to the ship. It swoops around, darts up high into the sky, then back near the water. it goes forward and comes back... no matter where it goes, the dragon always returns to the ship's side.

most of you are probably wondering what this beast is doing. it can't be here to kill you, right? most of you are already dead. BUT WHO KNOWS. it could be hungry! it could just want to make trouble. or maybe it just wants to tak along.

actually, this dragon is a very restless inmate, one who's tried to keep his secret under wraps so he wouldn't scare the humans. but even his magic cannot last for a week. even he needs to stretch his wings. he won't harm you. in fact, he'll probably ignore you unless you try to hurt him.

Despite Arthur's better judgment, he leans into Prussia, folding his wings around them as they walk. He really is cold, but he's not unhappy.

"Do you really not exist anymore?" he asks as they near the inmates' quarters. He wondered if he would be able to find a book with a map of Prussia somewhere on this ship. He would like to read about the history, see if humanoid countries are mentioned anywhere.

"I got dissolved. So, no, I don't. Some of my land was given to West and some of it to Poland and some of it to Russia..." And maybe others got parts of him, but he's not too sure on the minutae of it all. That's just where he knows the bulk of his land ended up. "Heh, it's fine, I guess. Who needs militaristic Prussia in an age of peace, right?"

No. It's not fine at all. But... he's too awesome to be sad about this!

The names Poland and Russia sound familiar to him, too, but he can't place where he's heard those before. Arthur looks down at the floor as they walk, wings folding around them just a bit more. "Well. There are always casualties in war." Not that that really makes anyone feel better, but he does sympathizes with Prussia.

After all, Arthur was a casualty himself. And he hopes he died for a good cause.

He squeezes Arthur a little bit more tightly. "Kehehehe... Yeah. At least it wasn't West..." Prussia trails off into silence, head dropping back slightly and gaze turning to the ceiling. Ah, all these stupid feelings should go away. He's too awesome to be sad that he's died! It doesn't matter, does it? He'll be the most awesome inmate and go back home and then everyone can just suck his dick because he'll still be there despite them trying to kill him.

Yes, that's right! Supposedly, they can go back if they are good. Arthur needs to go back so he can continue helping the Chosen!

When they get closer to the dragon's room, Arthur unfolds his wings and flattens them against his own back. There were still plenty of things he wished to discuss with Prussia, but it was late, and Arthur had already made quite a disturbance.

"Well. I suppose tomorrow I will have to apologize for waking everyone up."

"I dunno if you woke everyone up. I'm just a light sleeper." Well. Sort of. It depends on the circumstances. Always he gets back to sleep easily, unless he's in danger or deliberately chooses to remain awake. However, he doesn't always wake up at something so simple as the sound of flying outside his window.

"You warm enough?" He's going to fuss and worry a bit. Stupid fire dragon wouldn't have gone in the water if he hadn't been stupid enough to shove himself right off the boat!

"I'll be fine," Arthur said as he ducked his head shyly. Prussia didn't need to fuss over him, but the fact that he wanted to made the dragon happy. "I just have to change and dry my hair. You go to bed."

He did feel bad about getting Arthur soaked. And it seemed to make the dragon not as snappish, which was good since they were stuck on a relatively small boat together. "All right. But if you don't warm up any, come find me! I dunno if we can get sick, but I don't wanna find out." Prussia even gives directions to his room.

"Wh-why would I need to find you?" Arthur's cheeks burned. It looked like he was warming up already! He took a step back into his room.

"So I can give you my blanket, of course! Or hold you, but you don't look cold enough for that." Prussia grins widely at Arthur, patting him on the shoulder before he could retreat too far. "Gute Nacht~!"

Dammit, even joking that wasn't appropriate! Arthur grit his teeth as he made an undignified noise when Prussia said he'd hold him. "G-Good night!" And he shut his door quickly. That wasn't fair at all!

At least he wasn't angry. For right now. After Arthur warmed up, he would most likely seek Prussia out again so that they could continue sharing stories of their world. This whole country thing was strange. The dragon wanted to know about his counterpart.
