It's just very secretly badass.] For the most part, yes, although it seems to involve far more being knocked about the head than anyone warned me for when I signed up. Most Watchers take a... hands off approach. One I entirely disagree with. [He can't help the way his voice sharpens a little on the last sentence; it's a point of some contention in his life.]

I was literal when I said demonic forces. That is, I assist the Slayer in disposing of demons that -- that prey upon their peacefully ignorant human victims, in a truly gruesome variety of ways.

For the most part? Yes, [he says sourly.] I have little doubt it's contributed to the generally short lifespan of their Slayers.

Anyone can, and does, but the Slayer has inhuman strength, speed, and skill. She is the... ah, the 'boogie man' of the demonic world. Ripping apart is the tip of the iceberg of what demons can do.

Yes. [There's a quieter tone as he says this.] Some of them were once human, or are as intelligent or more, and they delight in seeing the suffering of their victims. They can be... creative.
